Birthday Week Recap: Thursday

Thursday was Doctor and Baking day!

In my family we are all about homemade....that includes all food and desserts. The more it is made with love the better it tastes right?? We always bake at Aunt Linda's--she is the sprinkle, food coloring, and kitchen gadget queen!! We make fun of her but could not do it without her:)

We made a bunch of yummy cupcakes and about 100 cookies. Making too much is one of our greatest talents ha!

I had big dreams of making Emery's birthday cake and I love the way it turned out! Perfect little cake for her cute little hands. I hope she wants me to make her a cake every year!

Before we baked Thursday evening, Emery went to her 12 month check-up. New town and new doctor, but the girl did great and Doug and I really liked the Doctor and clinic. At 12 months Emery is 28.5 inches long and weighs in at a whopping 19lbs 15oz...one ounce away from 20lbs! We made the joke that maybe one more bite of donut would have pushed her up to the 20lb mark ha! With these measurements she is in the 50th percentile for weight and only the 25th percentile in height. Head is still nice and big;)

The Doctor's only recommendation was to start cutting down on bottles...and I am happy to announce that we have gone from three bottles a day to only one at night. It was actually super easy because we all know it is not the bottle that Em wants but what is in the bottle....yummy milk! She is doing everything she is suppose to be doing  at this age (although the Doctor was surprised that she only has one little tooth ha!) and we will go back at 15 months. We have been so blessed to have a veryyy happy and veryyy healthy baby. It is something we are so thankful for everyday!!

  1. The cupcakes/cookies were delicious and beautiful. The cake could not have been any more special and beautiful. Emmy really enjoyed it too. After the fun she had eating it she may be at the 20 lbs. now. Ha. So glad for the wonderful memories you have with Aunt Linda. She is a special person. Emmy is blessed to have such a loving "extended" family. So thankful for the good health God has blessed her with. God is good.
