Where Did the Weekend Go?

Where did the weekend go?? I guess time fly's when you have a house to work on, family to eat with and friends to see. Here is what we have been up to!

Baby Boy hit the jackpot (finally) this weekend. He officially has the cutest hats and two old ball gloves for his room. Nothing that is actually needed to take care of a newborn baby but I am happy to have some blue to put in his dresser. Emery was also happy to see the hats and tried to put one on.....we are going to have to work on sharing with brother....

Friday night Nana, Gigi and Papa came over to finish making and hang our new curtains in the front room. They are perfecttttt and I love them and I promise to have some pictures of the house soon. Em "helped" for a little bit and then finally camped out with Baby and watched some "Rubble" aka Paw Patrol--a new favorite.
Saturday we worked on the house, ran errands and ate really, really good. Dora, Hannah, Nana, Uncle Austin and Uncle Avery came over for supper and we stuffed ourselves. After that the girls played and we made Uncle Avery play us "Let it Go" on his iPad. He then thought he should teach Em about some older musicals and moved on to "Grease". Not sure if she appreciates the leather jackets and greasy hair just yet. Some day.

Today we were booked to see Mary Poppins with Sharon. But first....Joes for lunch:)
Do NOT let the sweet smile fool you....the girl was in a mooooood today. Like an "I am going to stand in my high chair and when Nana asks me to sit on my bottom yell "Noooooooooo"" kind of mood. Honestly I do not think she feels good today--runny nose, sleepy eyes and she wouldn't eat lunch--a sure sign of not feeling the greatest.
After her actions all morning I was wondering how a three hour long musical would go. And really it wasn't too bad. Thank goodness:)
Before the show started she was allll about sitting in her own seat and reading the musical "boots" aka books. Lately anything that should end in a "K" ends in a "T"--Don't worry, we asked Sharon if she could fix her up someday and she said of course. Pays to have a Speech Pathologist friend:)
Emery also loved that we had our hands stamped together. When the lights went out she cried for a second and yelled "Lights!"--Sorry Em, Mommy should have warned you. After that she switched back and forth between Mom and I and did a pretty good of paying attention. I won't lie and say I was not ready for intermission though.....the girl was getting wiggly. We got "choochies" aka cookies at intermission and when the lights went out again there were no tears. The rest of the show was her wollering me and being sleepy. If she would have closed her eyes she would have been out. She did really like the tap dance number and stood up and stomped her feet along with them ha! I will call it a success just because there were no melt downs:)
And this was the big girl before we even left Nana's driveway. It will be an early bedtime.

Why can't weekends be a little bit longer? Oh well....on to Monday!

  1. Like baby J's hats and the ball gloves will be so neat with his bedroom theme. Thanks for the blog. Can't wait to see the house pics even though I have see in person all the progress made. Still will enjoy looking back and seeing the changes. Believe Em has had a busy weekend, sweet to see her and Hanna playing together.
