Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
A.K.A being away from the baby (and hubby) is hard. This past week I was away for two nights at a school conference. Luckily, Doug is an amazing Daddy, Nana was around to help, and I was sent lots of funny pictures and got to Facetime Miss Em. I made it through with only a few tears.
I tried soaking up as much cuddling as I could earlier in the week and might have asked for approximately 4,000 kisses before I left on Wednesday.
My phone is now full of goofy pictures. I love these sad-faces....it lets me know they were missing Mommy!
Douglas swears you could tell Emery missed me because she kept asking for "Momma" but the above picture is proof that she could not have missed me too much because she was too busy being spoiled rotten my Nana. Nana let the girl eat her snack and watch Elmo...at the same time....doesn't get much better than that!!
While away I did a little shopping at Target (and boy do I miss Target) and I might have bought Little One and Little Two matching swimsuits. Yes....I am going to be that Mom hehe!
I was so thankful that I got to pick Emery Kayt up from Miss Nancy's on Friday and her huge hug did not disappoint. When 5 o'clock rolled around, Douglas got home and I was a happy girl!
We hit the town Wal-mart (in matching sneakers) and enjoyed our evening together.
On Saturday we worked at the house, watched the Illini lose, took the best bath and got ready to go see Uncle Terry and Aunt Kim.
Those cheeks. Those teeth. That girl!!
All dressed up with my babieS:)
We of course went to bed too late Saturday night and woke up too early--all confused with time change. We love the sun in the evening but hate the darkness in the morning. No naps for the weary thought--we had a Jansen get together to play at.
I love love love seeing Em play with her cousins, aunts and uncles. The girl was even to busy playing to eat lunch which NEVER HAPPENS.
And this was the view in the backseat before we were even a mile down the road. Douglas would like to add that she looks just like her Mommy when she is sleeping:)
We made it home, actually accomplished a few things at the house and cuddled some more. A good weekend in my book.
I hope we have a good week and I hope you do too!!
Ah! I NEED to see your house....and you...and Em... (and, if Doug is there, that's fine). ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are home and all back together happy and comfy in your new home. Yes indeed Em does have an amazing daddy. He can take such good care of her and loves to do so.
ReplyDeleteDoug does an excellent job! Nana loves helping out and spoiling the girl :) couldn't love her more!!!
