Jansen Happenings

Douglas was gone what seemed like forever this past week. He left Saturday afternoon and Miss Emery Kayt did not see her Daddy until Friday morning. She asked for him every morning and anytime someone came and visited us, she would get all excited and thought that it was Dad. You should have seen those two Friday morning....inseparable. Thank goodness for a Nana that comes to visit and have sleep overs and an even bigger thank goodness for the fact that Doug is done traveling for a while.
We really did not accomplish too much while he was gone. We took walks, watched "mooobies", and just enjoyed some girl time. Doug was two hours behind us so it seemed like it was hard for our schedules to match up--when we were up in the mornings, it was 4 am there and when we had jammies on and were headed to bed, he was out to supper. When it did work, my two face timed which always turns into a good laugh. Em just wants to kiss Doug but then she can also see her self and thinks "Emmy" needs kisses too. After about five kisses she usually steals the phone and accidentally hangs up. Quality conversation. This was her best  Monday Morning Smile.
On Tueday we were wayyyy too worried about our phone to put it down in take a picture. Wondering what she is doing??? Putting it in her make believe pocket of course. She is obsessed with pockets.
She is also obsessed with her diaper bag. She doesn't leave home without it. Em is the biggest copy cat right now and what Mommy does, Emery does. I think I will have a big help on my hands soon!
My favorite picture of the week might have to be this one Thursday morning. My routine girl knew she had to put her coat on but she also was determined to hold on to her diaper bag no matter what. She wanted both...but both were not happening at the same time. So there were tears. And then Mommy fixed everything and there was the saddest looking smile. This might be weird, but I think sad smiles are just to cute haha!
Thursday evening, we came home and had baths so we would be all ready for Grandma Susie's birthday supper! To let our hair dry we cuddled on the couch....and got sleepy....
Looking back at these pictures, I noticed all of our pink. Pink nightgown, pink sleep bear, pink bunny, pink robe. Nothing out of the ordinary for us. But then I realized how excited I am to be adding some blue to my life. Baby Boy---I am getting more and more excited to meet you!
Friday started off to be a great day because Daddy was home! I decided to keep the great day going by adding in a little ice cream stop after school.
Daddy hugs and ice cream dates with Mom are the best. Emery would agree.
Our weekend was fairly low-key. Saturday we worked on the house and then headed to the farm for supper. Em loved the cows. It had been awhile since she had seen them and she was all about it this time and not shy at all. She fed them "Dupper", said hi to the baby cows and helped Grandpa milk. I hope she always loves going to the farm.
This picture pretty much sums up our Sunday afternoon. Besides a Wal-Mart trip, Em was all about watching Frozen (it might have played twice) and cuddling on the couch with me. She was so so sleepy, but Uncle Gary and Scott were over helping Doug on the house and there was no way she was going to sleep and miss out on something. So we layed around most of the day....and went to bed before the sun did.

A slightly busy week is ahead of us, which I know will make it go by quickly. Hope you all have a great Monday!

  1. Enjoyed the blog and of course the pictures of Em. Brought a tear to my eye to see her sad smile. I was still sweet but don't like to think of her sad even if she is smiling through it.
