Friends, Family and Finished Products

My title says it all. Our weekend was full of friends, family and a few finished products. I wish I could say that for every weekend....I would be living the life!
I don't know about Emery and Auggie, but I was veryyy ready for this Friday. I think I have the almost-summer-break-bug that all of my students caught this past week. It is so close. I was also pumped for Friday because I knew we had a lot to look forward to.
First up was playing over at Troy and Ammon's. Our kids love their kids and vice versa. A few other friends joined the party and voila....toys everywhere, loud noises, and fun.
Saturday morning we made messes at our own house and then the kids went and played at Aunt Cheryl's. From the ornery smile on Auggie's face to the fact that Emery Kayt was NOT leaving....I think they loved it.
I think Aug got into everything and ate all day---his favorites.
And Emery played tea party with Sadie and barbies with Courtney--her favorites.
(and then Auggie showed up and wrecked everything....imagine that!!)
Doug and I were soooo thankful that the kids could be entertained for the day because we really, really needed to start putting a dent in our to-do list. We get absolutely nothing done during the week besides the bare necessitates (blaming the two kids for this plus a little bit of laziness) and weekends are either full or rainy here lately. We saw our opportunity on Saturday and went for it! Number one on the list was the front yard. Trim bushes, plant stuff, mulch, hang plants.
Kind of hard to see all of the changes, but Doug and I know they are there! We went for the simple, can't-kill-it-if-we-tried look. And I love it.
We got the kids back just in time for super-speedy baths and an outfit change. We had our niece Kelsey's graduation party. I wish I would have snapped a picture of Auggie sitting on the couch with all of the boys just watching them. Emery stayed busy playing with Katie. August was ready to go by the time we left. Again, Emery Kayt was not.
Doug and I should have set an alarm for this morning because our usual, very reliable alarm clocks decided to sleep in. Kaci's and Sharon's were stopping by for breakfast this morning and I figured when the kids woke up that would leave us plenty of time to run and get some last minute groceries, pick up the house, change clothes. Nope. We all woke up at 8 and friends came at 9 ha! House was picked up and food was being cooked....but we were still rocking the pj look. I don't think they minded. Next time they will know to wear jammies too.
I love it when we can do these impromptu get-togethers. Orie Ellen is getting too big too fast since it feels like I never get to see her. Why do babies do that?!? Hopefully this summer allows for more impromptus plus Kendra!
I think the rest of my day might be spent looking at this view with some laundry here and there. I kind of need to address Aug's birthday invites too. Just going to kind of take it slow....I can't mark too many things off of the to-do list in one weekend ha!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday--weither busy or lazy like us.
And here is to Monday and the last week of school!
