Taking it Easy

Birthday week has come and gone and I can officially say I have a two year old and a one year old...sounds super scary right!?! Emery is already planning out her party and gift ideas (a mash-up of all things princess because she changes her favorite hourly). But before we jump into princess mode, we are just going to take it easy for awhile.
Sunday we were either in our swimsuits or pjs. We stayed home and just enjoyed being four. We played with every single toy, took much needed naps and ate leftover cake. Perfect.
Favorite gifts so far? Depends on who you ask: Doug of course likes the basketball hoop, I like all of Aug's new clothes, Emery loves it all. Auggie...he really liked the random left over balloons haha. Okay, I am only kidding a little. All of the balls, tunnel and race car track have kept him pretty busy.
So has cuddling with Daddy and Mommy. I took the kids to Nancy's Monday so that I could find homes for new toys and do a better after-party clean up. With this done I plan to just sit on the floor and wrestle with my babies the rest of the week! Auggie is gonna love it!
The only plan for today was Auggie's one year appointment. He weighs 19lbs 7oz and is 24 inches long. That put him in the 20th percentile for weight, the 17th for height (and 60th for head.) Aka--the perfect little man. He checked out almost perfect but not quite... for starters he has eczema which we kind of already figured. That means I need to go back to hypoallergenic soaps and lotions. I also bought some new sunscreen just for him. I hadn't even thought about that. I also learned the poor guy has a double ear infection. Had no idea. Doesn't that just make me feel like the Mom of the Year. Hopefully meds kick right in and he can get some relief! He did so good with his shots--only a short yell and a really mean look to the nurse as he patted my back.
We treated ourselves to baby cones afterwards. Emery Kayt was the perfect little nurse/hand holder/patty caker/distractor for Aug. There have been times that I have left the doctor's wanting to cry because of my crazy show but both were excellent today! Rest of the day plans involve naps, extra Aug attention and maybe a big caesar salad for supper.

(Note for me: At one, Em weighed 19lbs 15 oz and was 28.5 inches long. So almost a pound bigger and 5 inches taller. I thought Aug was smaller.)

Be safe the rest of the week and love on everyone. We really, really need that.
