Girls Day+Lake Day

Wanna know the ingredients for a perfect weekend? Start with a successful Girl's Day, add in a hot Lake Day, finish strong with a relaxing Family Day. And there you have it. The perfect weekend.
Friday was Girl's Day. Nana, Gigi, Em and I headed to Champaign early to shop for Auggie's bday. The blonde haired boy got to stay with Grandma Susie and Grandpa Sammy...so he was in heaven. We found everything we needed. My main goal was to find fabric for throw pillows. Our plans are to have Em and Aug bunk together before Baby J comes and I wanted Gigi to make their pillows. I found exactly the fabric I wanted and cannot wait for their room now. Douglas better get on bunk beds! The boy only likes balls and books so shopping wasn't hard. We found a few other toys that I think he (really Emery) will love too.
Em is my shopper. She also loves nothing more than a Girl's Day. Nana and I kind of leave her and Gigi in the dust but I am pretty sure my Gma loves walking around the stores browsing with Emery. Her big find was this bike. So far for her birthday she wants a bike and a troll watch. She keeps telling me she wants Nana to get those for her and I keep telling her it is not polite to tell people what to get you ha! (Who wants to take bets that Nana gets her exactly what she wants....)
I love having days with just my girl. She is so easy and sweet. She deserves more Girl Days.
Auggie Boy had the best time at the farm. All the way there that morning he kept yelling "SEE COWS" I then reminded him that he would have to play inside too. To that he just yelled "GOATS TOOOOOO!" I think Grandma got him to help her make cookies and other than that I think they were outside. He loves Grandpa so much and I know Grandpa feels the same way. I am so glad I can leave him behind and know he is wayyyy happier that way.
*Note he wore his farm hat. Of course.
Em and I shopped till we dropped but she got her second wind when we pulled in Grandma and Grandpa's driveway. I think she loves the goats almost as Aug does. So we stayed past bedtime visiting the farm.
Saturday was Lake Day. Uncle Chuck was home and invited us out. We don't say no to Lake Days. Em has loved it there since she was little....I have been worrying about Auggie this year. A wild boy and water sound like zero fun to me. The Boy surprised me and was actually really good (for like two hours. Note to self...anything after that and he is a little too comfortable there....)
He screamed on the boat at first just because he wanted me and then loved it. Only tried to climb out twice!
Em is an old pro. She knows how to relax and just enjoy.
Auggie did love swimming. He thought splashing Uncle Chuck was funny and eventually had to get back in naked after a diaper accident--Uncle Chuck got the pleasure of swishing a naked Auggie around ha!
Em didn't want to swim but also didn't want to miss out on any fun. When she saw Daddy get the paddle board out she decided it was time to get in. She lasted a solid second but still thought it was pretty cool.
Nana came and picked the kids up late afternoon so Doug and I could stay and enjoy the lake with no kids to worry about. During the last thirty minutes Auggie was there he went potty on the deck and decided running dangerously close to the edge of the dock was super fun....Nana to the rescue!!!
They ate at their favorite place, played outside till after dark and hit the hay with very heavy eyelids. Doug and I are very thankful that Nana can do things like this for us. Kids were happy, Nana was happy and Doug and I were very happy!
Sunday was church, Neimerg's breakfast (where we saw everyone that we know) and an afternoon back on the farm to see family. Kids fell asleep on the way home so Doug and I treated ourselves to ice cream for supper. Don't tell the kids! We played a rousing game of Candy Land (1st-Doug, 2nd-Emery, 3rd by a lot Auggie/Mommy.) I started crafting for Auggie's birthday party too....can you guess the theme??

Today kicks off Auggie's Birthday Week and we are headed back to the lake for a picnic on the beach this afternoon. Looking forward to celebrating my boy this week. My TWO year old boy!
