Holiday World 2017

Holiday World never ever disappoints, does it? This year we had perfect weather, small lines and too much fun. The proof is in the smiles.
With no lines, we walked in and got right on the rides. August Samuel fell in love immediately. He ended up riding these fish twice and never stopped smiling. I think this, the train and the water slides are his top three favorite moments. He was such a good boy--held hands, waited patiently when we did have a line. He had one meltdown (clearly needing a nap) but Nana saved the day with another train ride.
Emery was our little dare devil this year. We talked her into riding whatever this ride is....you should have seen her face. I didn't know whether she was going to cry or throw up. Luckily she did neither but immediately told us she did not want to ride it again ha! We talked her into riding a big water slide with us too and she had the opposite reaction. She wanted to climb all the stairs and do it again!
Poor Auggie wanted to do all of the big kid stuff and....next year buddy!
One of Em's highlights was probably seeing Santa. We had told her he lived there in the summer and she didn't believe us. We ran into him right by Mrs. Claus's kitchen!
I forgot to mention that we had a bigger group this year. Uncle Avery, Uncle Austin, Dee Dee and Alayna came with us. The "big kids" rode some roller coasters while Nana and I had fun with the little. I know Nana enjoyed her day with her kiddos.
And we enjoyed our day with her!
Thank you so much Nana for making memories with us!
As much fun as I had as a kid here, watching my kids have the best day is even better. We of course had to ride the old cars. The boys drove Em and I around.
Em and I also rode the teacups together (I think this was one of three rides for me...there should totally be a pregnant lady ticket price!) If you look closely you can see Austin, Avery, Doug and Auggie in the tea cup next to us. The only thing was you couldn't even see Auggie so it looked like three grown men that really liked kid rides....
My girl would have spent the day on the splash pad. She ran laps and giggled and refused to stop for a picture. We need a splash pad in Effingham!
My boy went down the water slides a million times (always wanting to butt in line) and finally gave into a nap with Nana. He slept for maybe an hour and got the biggest second wind of his life. He talked/sang/made no sense the ENTIRE way home. Never stopped for a breath. Crazy kid.
Emery told Doug that she loved Holiday World and wanted to move there but "Jesus can't move our house." She made it very clear that she had a great day. She walked almost every bit of it and snored the entire way home. The next morning she walked out of her room and told me her feet hurt. Well you had a big day, girlfriend!

We stayed in our pjs until supper the next day and daydreamed about our favorite rides. We were tired.
Can't wait for Holiday World 2018!
