Christmas Ready
We are sooo ready for Christmas. Are you?
We have been checking things off our before Christmas to-do list. First up this week was Emery's Christmas program. Do not let Bennett or Auggie's smiles trick you; they could not sit still.
We were lacking in the Grandparent depart. Sickness and slick roads kept a few away, but that was okay, we still had a big cheering section! Grandpa Sammy made it to see his girl.
And Nana made it to see her girl too. She always says Em reminds her of me when I was this age.
Emery was sparkle from head to toe (we reused a flower girl dress from the summer and it made the perfect Christmas dress). I love a big Christmas dress and I love a big bow....but I can feel this stage slipping away. If it were up to Em she would wear a nightgown and a ponytail every day of her life. It might be time to just start meeting in the middle on fashion. Whatever that means!
We checked school off the list. Friday was Pj day and the last day of school. Aka the best day ever!!
Helloooo Christmas Break--It's nice to see you again!
Friday night Emery also had an American Girl Sleepover with cousins. Aka the best night ever.
(Just realized this is a total Emery recap.)
Emery loves her cousins so much, and I love that they can make these fun memories. She didn't tell me too much about the sleepover, but I do know that she was asleep the minute her head hit the pillow Saturday Night.
We have checked lots of other little things off our list too. We wrote a recipe for our own reindeer food. Secret ingredients include whispers, glitter, bird seed and Bennett drool. We saw the lights, we grocery shopped, we made sure our Christmas pjs were clean, and we saw Santa every where we went; he even peaked in our window. I wrapped all the Santa gifts in one sitting (wine and Netflix were there to help) and now all thats left is to clean a little, grade a little, cook a little and just try to soak it all up.
We are three days away people. Three of the best days of the year.
I hope this next week brings you joy and happiness, old memories and new traditions, and the warm embrace and reminder of God's love for you.
Merry Christmas!
