Halloween Week Part One
This is the first installment to our Halloween Week Trilogy. Yes, there will be three parts. I just love fall and pumpkins (and pumpkin scented glade plug-ins the make my house smell fabulous) and blankets and cuddles and cool nights and s'mores and family and friends and of course dressing baby girl up for the occasion!
You cannot have a Halloween weekend without a cute pumpkin costume. My Mom visited this past week and we got our craft on. First step: pumpkin tutus.
(Apparently Em is approximately the size of our sugar container--good to know.)
The finished products. Emery's best friend Jordyn wanted to be a pumpkin too. With two girls the same age we seem to be making or buying two of everything---these girls are going to hate us someday haha. These were super easy to make...so easy in fact that I now do not see a reason to not have a tutu for every outfit.... (Doug would probably disapprove.)
The second step was happy jack-o-lantern faces. Again, so easy.
Add an obnoxious bow and some leg warmers and you got yourself an adorable chubby little pumpkin:)
Douglas and I have disagreed all week. He is positive that these pumpkin costumes do not count as actually costumes--they are pumpkin "outfits".
Doug: "She does not actually look like a pumpkin--she just looks cute. So technically it is an outfit."
Ashley: (Just the glare of an annoyed mommy...)
We will see if he is still talking next year when I make us all wear matching Halloween "outfits" hehe!
Emery and Jordyn--our two pumpkins. (Note that they are holding hands!) We didn't think we were ever going to get a picture of them. When one was sleeping the other was awake. When they finally got on the same schedule it was so fun to see them interact. Em kept patting Jordyn's head and both girls just stared at each other. It is going to be fun to see them grow up together. They will either love each other or fight all the time.....At this point, I think 14lbs Emery could take 10lbs Jordyn, but Jordyn might be more of a diva haha!
This next week is a full one filled with pumpkin carving with friends, trick-or-treaters, and another adventure south to see more family. (Oh--and a whole lot of Cardinal baseball!)
Have a great week!
Oh so happy to get to see the beautiful girls in there pumpkin outfits. They are adorable. Glad they finally got awake at the same time and were able to interact. Looking forward to the next two installment postings.
ReplyDeleteLove the girls being together. It was so cute, Jordyn holding Emery's hand and Emery rubbing Jordyn's hair!! So precious. Looking forward to all the times together. We are truly blessed :)
