Goodbye Spring Break--Hello Reality
Spring Break is always looked forward to and much needed. Looked forward to..... Ha! That was a Big. Fat. Understatement this year. Doug had his first week on the new job the week before break and it gave Emery and I just a week to adjust to our new weekly routine. One week without daddy and one week with him--Hey, we will take what we can get!
Break was FULL of family time and it really just proves to us that we are making the right decision with moving. Em is so loved (I mean I am too, but who am I kidding? It is all about Miss Em right now haha!) During break Emery and I would hang out with family during the day and in the evenings we got to spend time with Doug. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend break.
Besides showing off her new crawling and clapping skills, Emery Kayt stood on her own for the first time on break. My goodness this girl is getting too big.
GiGi (aka my Grandma) watched Emery for the first time. I just love seeing her with my grandparents because they have been such an important part of my life. They have always loved me unconditionally and I know are head over heels in love with Em. Lucky girl has seven grandparents to spoil her!
Baby girl sure does have her Daddy's eyes. I just cannot get enough of that sweet face.
One day during break Emery and I went to my grandparent's house and with the help of my Mom made a TON of baby food. We are sharing with Jordyn, but each girl should have enough food to last them for about forever ha!
While we slaved away in the kitchen my Grandpa was in charge of Em. We joked that his old westerns on t.v. were boring and that's why Em needed a nap. Really I bet G'pa was pretty cozy and comfy:)
Most days were also jam packed with Jansens. Doug's parents have had a lot of practice in the being grandparents department and sure know how to spoil a girl! She loved playing with Grandpa and Grandpa every morning. Emery did so good seeing everyone--I guess she know that there is no getting away from this loud bunch!
We wrapped up the week with a lunch date with Uncle Avery. Emery seems to love Avery and Austin--I just tell her that we can like Uncle Avery and Uncle Austin....we just can't act like them haha! I am sure these two get in trouble someday!!
I know it is already Thursday and break has been over for a week ....but I am still reminiscing. Em and I have stayed busy this week but every night I count how many sleeps there are until she gets to play with her Daddy again. Break just showed me how much I have to be thankful for and to look forward to. Family is going to be so fun:)
Well, I have to go chase these piggies now and think about Friday. Have a great end of the week everyone!
So glad you enjoyed your spring break I know we certainly enjoyed sharing it with you. What a joy to have you and Em with us. Just a taste of what is to come when you all get settled down here! Seems like we can see Em growing before our eyes. She has changed so much and is doing so many new things each day. God is good.
