Adventures with Emery: First Time in a Big Girl Pool

While Daddy is away....the girls will play! Nana and Hannah headed our way this morning and we took off for a day of shopping, (Cracker Barrel), and swimming!

Hannah is a baby hog (I wonder where she gets that from ...Dora? Heath?Aunt Linda?). She wants to hold and cuddle Emery all the time. Small problem with that: Em doesn't want to be held or cuddled anymore ha! Instead the girls get to play!

After a quick trip to Mattoon --where we bought absolutely nothing--we hit the Newton Pool. Man-oh-man has it changed since I was a life guard. So nice and family friendly now!

I have dreamed of taking my daughter swimming since before she was born last summer. That being said, I had high hopes for the day....and I wasn't disappointed. My Mom is a fish, I am a fish.....and Emery Kayt is a little fish too!

Em kicked and splashed and put her face in and "jumped" in and grinned from ear to ear the entire time. She swam for three hours, breaking long enough to reapply sunscreen and eat a snack.

 

 

We ended the day with a little grass time and headed home.

 She was asleep before we left the parking lot.

And she is still sleeping....

Swimming makes a girl tired (and hungry). This Mom will have supper ready for you baby girl....sleep as long as you want to:)
