Our Weekend

We had a lovely weekend. Did you?
Our Friday night started off as the perfect fall Friday (minus the heat of course). We put on our best orange and blue and headed to our first Newton Eagle Football game as a family of three. This event might not sound like much, but it is something that I have been looking forward to since moving home. Newton Football holds a special place in my heart--My Dad played, my brothers played, I cheered for four years and fell in love with the best trumpet player (in my opinion) in the marching band. Even though Emery might not ever be a true Eagle, she will always look good in her orange and blue!
Speaking of looking cute in orange and blue, we owe GiGi a HUGE thank you for whipping up Em's little dress. My Mom and I went to see the new Jo Ann's in Mattoon on Wednesday and decided that evening that GiGi needed to make Emery a new dress....for Friday....and without a pattern....Sorry GiGi. She of course made the perfect little dress with time to spare!

Emery liked the football game. (Really she just liked seeing family and watching people...nosey girl). The night was cut short by a storm, so instead of four quarters of football, we saw one and then headed to DQ for some ice cream! I don't think Em minded that too much ha! She had a bite (okay...lots of bites) of everyone's ice cream, kissed everyone good bye and was asleep before we left Newton. Pretty good Friday:)
On Saturday Em got to bust out some of her new fall wardrobe for a picnic date with Kaci, Kendra and Sharon. She looked cute and I think she knew it!
I LOVE these girls so much and it is very clear that Emery Kayt loves them too. She was spoiled with snacks and kisses all day....pretty much her two favorite things.

These pictures perfectly capture the love and joy that happens during a girls day. We may not get to see each other often but it is so nice to know that these lovelys will always be there. Looking forward to many more picnics to come!

Today we are taking it easy and having some family over for supper. Emery is taking a much needed nap because as you can see, we keep the girl busy.
Thought I would mention that today she is napping in her bed....not on the bathroom rug.
Hey....when you want a nap, you want a nap:)

  1. Looks like a wonderful weekend. Thankful for your friends. Even though you do not get t see them often it is nice when you can get together and just take off right where you left off. Looks like Emmy has some fans, hard not to fall in love with such a sweetheart. Thanks for the blog. I loved making the dress for her.
