Happy New Year and Our Last Celebration

The first blog post of 2015! We hope the new year is treating you all well--I know it is starting off great for us. Emery is (finally) healthy and it was back to school and daycare for us today. I dropped Em off this morning and she was so excited to see Miss Nancy and her buddies. I on the other hand surprised myself by tearing up when I drove away....I will blame it on pregnancy hormones, but leaving my baby girl is never ever easy....especially when I realize that my baby girl is NOT a baby anymore. How will I ever part with two babies when the day comes!?!?!

Enough about today-Let's do a picture recap of our New Year and final Christmas celebration shall we?

We headed up North to Uncle Phil and Aunt Tari's house--Emery LOVES their girls and we like spending time with them so it made for a great trip. We rang in the new year with lots of food (and cream cheese), girly giggles and good company.
Emery Kayt made it until 10:00 and was up bright and early the next day:) So we decided to venture out to Bounce Town!
The Bestest Buds--When the girls are together you can just see how much Emery looks up to Macie and Riley....melts my heart.

So about this Bounce Town. I went to sleep New Year's Eve night with visions of Em loving every minute of bounce town--running around, bouncing, sliding. I should have known better.....

She hated it (at first). No sliding, no jumping, no fun, just a big fat no to everything. Finally this preggo mommy took matters into her own hands....I climbed in with an 18 month old clinging to chest. We were going to conquer the bounce town!
And we did! We payed for an hour and a half and I must say that last half hour was well worth it haha! The girl jumped and ran all over the place.
She also awkwardly layed down and did and evil laugh....little kids are weird.
Lovely group picture to finish up the fun. After this we ate some lunch and hit the road--success!

Last night we finished up break with our last Christmas party--with Aunt Linda and Dora's family. Again we ate too much and had lots of fun.
Emery Kayt had one last big present to open and can you tell she was a little excited. The girl got pretty good at unwrapping this year!
And the surprise was....a Frozen Doll Bed! Aunt Linda said Emery and her baby sister (or brother) could play together because it was a bunk bed. We showed Em that her baby doll went on it but she had other plans.....It has officially become her favorite seat in the house.
She proceeded to unwrap the rest of her gifts from her new chair and tonight, when we got home from school, the first thing she did was go and sit on her bunk bed--too funny. Someday she will get the concept but for now she thinks it is the best seat ever which is fine with me.

This morning came way too early and I do not know about Doug, but these two Jansen girls are worn out and it is only Monday!

Have a great week everyone!

  2. What a great way to spend the New Year. Looks like Emery had a great time with her cousins. They are at the age to really enjoy being with her too. I'm glad she is cautious about trying new things. At least she did not just rush into something she knew nothing about. She takes after her uncle Avery in that. He was always (and I hope still is) cautious about things until he knew how they worked. She has had a a lot of new experiences in her young life already.

  3. So cute that she thinks the bunk bed is a seat. It works for right now anyway. Very cute.
