Auggie's Birthday Weekend

There are lots of big smiles in this post. Mainly from Auggie Boy but I know the rest of my little family had the best weekend. Easy to have the best weekend when you are celebrating the best boy!
Thursday Big Hannah came over to be my life saver. It was baking/decorating/cleaning day so having her entertain made the day go so much better. And it was way more fun. Kiddos love Hannah so much.
Uncle Avery stopped by for supper and a surprise that night! The first gift of the birthday weekend was a squirt-gun (and I think Em likes it the most!)
Friday was Aug's actual birthday. June 9th will forever and ever be one of the best days of my life! Nana surprised him with his favorite breakfast...muffin tops! We started off the morning with a loud rendition of "Happy Birthday Auggie" and knew it was going to be a great day.
We finished up our decorating.
A little Elmo here...
And here....
And here. I now have a love/hate relationship with Elmo and I hope Baby Boy doesn't want an Elmo cake someday.
Surprised the boy with a new Elmo shirt and it was officially PARTY TIME!
I swear Emery was just as excited as Auggie for the party. She was sweet and made him a birthday card and she has already gotten a talking-to twice about sharing Auggie's new toys with him. The girl likes Bob the Builder too!
A few gift highlights: This sweet tricycle. Nana got the boy this and it is so cool.
Uncle Avery made it even cooler by making it custom! Many miles are going to be put on this thing.

The other favorite gift has a story: Earlier this week my Father called asking is he could get Auggie a pony. He had one when he was little and thought it would be perfect. We could ask to keep it on the farm and the pony would be loved on by all. He said he had a pony guy and had already pretty much told him he would take it. I thought he was nuts but told him I would think about it. After "thinking" about it I told him no. Because DUH! Fast forward to the party and my Dad is late and acting weird. When it is gift time he hands Auggie a card and explains the rest of his gift is outside. He apologized that he really did get the kids a pony....and then went outside. Out the window we could see him calling at something and for a second I was about to kill my Father. I really thought he had gotten Auggie a pony.....
And I guess you can say he did. He finally came around the corner with this beauty and Auggie yelled out a big "HOARSIE!"
Auggie loves this pony and knew exactly what to do on him.
And the coolest part? This pony was gifted to me by my Uncle Jim when I was two. This is the before and leave to my Dad to make him fabulous again. The funny part is Uncle Jim pulled the same trick on my parents when I was little. Mom, Aunt Linda and Dora should have caught on to what my Dad was up to ha! I love gifts with a story and this pony sure has one.
We finished the night with three candles on the birthday cake and lots of fun. All day Auggie said he wanted three candles and I don't say no to Auggie! We stayed up playing with new toys like the bubble lawn mower and Scoop from Bob the Builder (aka the loudest toy ever.)
It was the perfect day.
Saturday we woke up to donuts (three candles again) and ran around getting ready.
We had a Cardinals game to get to! Thank you so much Nana for treating us to the game (and for treating us all week.)
I think by now Emery remembers Busch Stadium but that didn't stop her excitement. The whole game she asked where the cheer leaders were (I think our sports were getting mixed up) and she sweet talked Nana into buying her her first Cardinals hat. She has been begging for a hat since brother wears one and we found the cutest purple and pink one.
Auggie Boy LOVED the game and did so good. The whole game he waved to the field and yelled "HI CARDINALS!" He kept busy cheering them on, drinking all the water and fixing his brand new Cardinal hat. When we first got to our seats he was just speechless. I said something about how fun it will be in the future to bring "the boys" and my heart skipped a beat. I love saying "the boys."
It was HOT for innings 1 through 3 but then we were in the shade and it was perfect.
Cards won just for Auggie's birthday I am sure!
We have played with every toy. All the bubbles have been blown and our feet our dirty from running around barefoot. Aug fell asleep mid-book Sunday night and just looked so peaceful (and big.)
Thank you to all who celebrated him this weekend. That sweet smile of his face is proof he knows he is a loved little boy!

*Just so I remember: Auggie weighs 25lbs at two. Emery weighed 30lbs. We will see about Baby Boy!
