Beginning of Birthday Week

We know how to do birthdays around here. My kiddos having summer birthdays gives us the perfect excuse to celebrate big. We call it Birthday Week.
And this week is Auggie's!
Monday we headed to the beach (practically in our backyard) for a picnic. Doug right away called me out when I sent him the above picture. He said I posed them this way. I guess he was kind of right. I told Emery to sit by Auggie and put her arm around him (because I have a picture like this from last year) but this year Aug thought he would give his big sis a pat too!
Em was our treasure keeper and in charge of the water gun. Very important jobs.
Auggie is always a toss up so I didn't know what he would think about the beach. The boy loved it! He jumped in the water and landed on his little butt so many times that it has to be sore and he got really good at digging for rocks and shells. He also yelled "No-No seaweed" if it got near him. And if it touched him he would pick it up and ask Nana to hold it.
They were so good that I plan on going back a million times this summer.
Tuesday morning we headed to Robinson. Why Robinson you ask? They have free kid movies! We love movie popcorn and we love free!
I don't think Emery Kayt moved once and I heard her laugh out loud one time. The girl got her Sprite and popcorn so she was very happy.
On our way to the movie, it dawned on me that a movie might not be the best way to be celebrating Auggie. The boy wants to be on the go and outside...opposite a movie. Oh well.
He loved his big boy seat and his "plate" as he called it. Problem was he was done and over it by the time the movie actually started. At one point he stood up, pulled down his pants and yelled "POTTY"..to which I reminded him quietly that he had a diaper on (maybe it is time to try potty training.) After trying Nana's lap and his seat again he jumped up and this time yelled "Done! Go play. Get UP Mommy!!" There was about one minute during the movie that I thought we were going to have to go run the halls but he ended up watching the last little bit of the movie. He also stood up in his chair several times and said "Hi, boys!" to the kids behind us. It sounds awful when I write it out but really it went well ha!
We didn't stop at just a movie. We grabbed some lunch, picked up Big Hannah and went to the Newton Pool! One of our favorite places in the summer.
Em is my cautious one but she proved me wrong today. I was very proud of her swimming...and it is only the beginning of summer!
Auggie Boy was wild from the get go. He went down the little slide approximately 4,000 times and when we went to the deep he would jump in and say "Under water! Big Splash!"
He is my fishy!
He loved the water. He HATED the 10 minute breaks and the fact that he couldn't go down the big slide. He is two but he thinks he is 10. How am I ever going to keep up with him?
But this girl. I can definitely hang with her. She is already planning out her birthday week and she just added Movei/Pool day as long as Hannah can come. Safe to say we had a good day!

The rest of the week won't seem near as fun but Friday is party day and we need to get ready!
