August Samuel is THREE!

August Samuel we cannot believe you are THREE! A few months ago, you would have agreed with me when I said I wanted you to stay two. You wanted to be my "wittle" boy forever. But all of a sudden you want to be big. You are excited to be three and we really are excited for you.

I interviewed Emery when she turned three so I thought I would do the same for you.

What makes you happy?

When you kiss me.

(And cue the big mom-tears and giving you everything you ever want, ever. I am mush with you. Until you drive me crazy....)

Jace. Hank and Knox. Lincoln.
(Sounds like trouble to me ha!)

What is your favorite song?
On for Newton....actually Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
(You couldn't decide. Add in John Deere Green and you have the Auggie playlist. You sing all of these at the top of your lungs all day every day.)

I like blue and red.

What is your favorite thing to eat? 

CHIPS!

(I was surprised by this. I figured you would say baked potatoes or pancakes or maybe even Cracker Barrel Carrots.)

What is your favorite thing to play?

Ummm...I like to ride on my toys.
(Your answer should have been playing farm. You roam around with your "rubber black boots" on and your faded Cardinals hat and pretend to be Farmer Terry or Farmer Tim. All day/everyday.)

What are you really good at?

Basketball!

(You were proud of this one as you should be! You like all sports but really seem to like playing basketball the best.)

(You are my little lover boy. We have always had this connection.)

Ride on the lawn mower.
(You also love to cheer on your favorite teams and really just follow him around everywhere. You are quickly becoming his right hand man.)

I play with her.
(I love watching you two play together. It's one of my favorite things. Your imaginations work together until you don't do exactly what she says! I look forward to watching you play with Bennett in the years to come.)

How do you help Mommy with Bennett?
I feed him.
(You wish you did! If it is with a spoon you gag him and I wouldn't trust you with a bottle. I know you would roll him onto the floor!)

What do you want to be when you grow up? 

A doctor....a real doctor. 

(Completly surprised by this answer. I figured you would say a farmer or a basketball player. But you and Em have been on a Doc McStuffin kick....)

I have had no trouble with Emery getting older. I have looked forward to every new milestone and moment. But you, I want you to stay exactly this age forever and ever. Yes, you can be a whirlwind. You can be frustrating and just plain ornery. But you bring so much joy and laughter to our day. Your hugs and kisses make everything okay and in everything you do there is this little spark of something special. That little touch of Auggie.
